nothing like a bath to make me conversant in astrology
because it's that time of year
the winter season has officially begun, take heart
your epiphany this year is that you have a whole month to make really great valentines
and won't that be fun

i took a seminar called Medicine, Science and Sexuality. For those not conversant in course books, it means you don't get tested you only have to write a paper. Well. The subject clearly is wide open for astrology which was all university doctorates achieved until the 15th century
of lectures in latin and greek
of lectures in latin and greek
they could all do the math
something of a lost art what with pascal and all
and you know
because the stars are so many and vast
it seems we should be able to do much better with our ittle bit of it

im writing a short story where the women are kept in foxholes and the surface of the planet is just a set for worldOfWARCRAFT and the girls are just to have babies and never see the light of day and they have all run mad because they miss the star on their face and they've never even heard of it! but they know
and they miss horses too
and the smell of soil after the rain
all clean and alive
and the smell of soil after the rain
all clean and alive
and they're all so damn unhappy
it's a really weird storySIGH
our imagination is having a terrible time with this story
we are worthy of a better future than this
this is like so unintelligent
i can't even write it
we have decided to feel free is the most best way to be
we're satisfied with the screenwriting
we would rather write comedy
which is really hard to do
we'd rather talk about money
say we had a tight society
no one had any credit card debt
(i know i know use your imagination)
then what would the banks have?
compared to what do they have now?
investments instead of cash
say this happened because every goddamn decision that men made was based on how much money they could squeeze out of it
so it's in part our fault that they're in their big bank way as desperate as we are because their "customers" don't save money
and the economists say spend spend spend
but the shareholders found a way to milk so much cash flow into their coffers that there literally isn't enough to spend anymore
everyone knows exactly where its all going
and it isn't to pay down principal (ple?)
much less savings
I think we need to rewrite the law where the government grabs the property if you can't pay your taxes...
they don't really want your home anyway,
none of them like foreclosing
it feels as wrong taking it as it feels having it taken
they appease their conscience with the word business
this works too but that doesn't make them feel any better about it
dad was pissed when his Land contract property reverted to him, he wanted to give it away, it was a nuisance to have an extra $200 a month in income, he's like uncle sam, it's more trouble than it's worth
so it's that we're all tenants to uncle sam, isn't it, and what if instead of losing your home (do you have any idea how many empty homes there are compared to the homeless? the homeless only need 5% of them?!) and the salvagers just want to tear them down in America.
in europe they don't tear buildings down
it's really cool
they have buildings from the 13th century in great shape
so what are the consequences of not holding people accountable for property tax? we'd have to get more council from our city and see what things participation can improve as a community working together
americans are a new evolution of creatures really
our independence and our naivete
got us into this mess
we trusted management wholeheartedly
can you believe we actually let them outlaw alcohol?
how did THAT happen?
and it aint anchient history neither
never forget!
chipping away at our rights,
if we can overturn the alcohol thingy
maybe we can overturn letting them invade our toilets
and just let them fire us if we're not doing the job right
the law is your wife cannot testify against you
however you do have to provide the evidence against yourself...
during the Reagan administration when this happened
we felt our privacy was being invaded
many decided to never work for someone who would want their pee whether it was clean or not
it's the principle
because it isn't necessary for 150,000 years we got by without sniffing out each others piss and im damn sure any sort of safety training one has to undergo as a result of testing positive (if you aren't fired outright) is some training that it would behoove the management to provide for all of their employees
it doesn't seem as if management will ever stop at anything
if they had gone that far
and now it's commonplace
going that far
and they say oh by the way you're all under 24 hour surveillance
big data
and we shrug
except for some of ya'll are all like young enough to say
"tell us something we didn't already know"
and a whole generation without a sense of privacy is born
say what?
of course it isn't true, modesty is still a lovely quality
and now it's like having a cup of tea
oh
they want my pee
la la la
there is no question of noncompliance
and some people tell us get mad if congress isn't making more laws for us to be ignorant of
we are mad because the laws they have are illogical and defensive
It should be their job as legislators to clean up THE LAW
do your jobs! congress!
the job of government is now to unravelling the tangled web they've woven to deceive us
when i was little, dad took me to ford and i saw how his draftsmen drew the blueprints that came off the drafting table, to him they were works of art. The toolers were depending on him for their dimensions. then CAD changed everything. The work went from being handmade to rolling out of a drawing machine. It still took dad to judge if they were ready for the toolers. The work space shrank to a small room full of work stations instead of an acre of tables. He now supervised the one lone printer with 25 pens dancing around on the paper rolling through it.
no more handmade laws, we want precision, we want elegance, we want fairness and mercy
My first computer was called Gertrude and she sat in the food service at St. Joseph Hospital when it was still in Ann Arbor and it was not yet absorbed into Catherine McAuley (god bless her) and Gertrude had a tab pencil so instead of typing in numbers i could just point to the screen and set up my tables ... that made so much sense for someone who is just printing out menus and schedules ... and i've never seen this ability to simply eyeball Gertrude again... why do people complicate things that are super easy to do? and make everything harder instead of easier?
Gertrude was 5 feet tall and probably weight 200 pounds. Isn't that funny? She was when Apple corp was still in the steve's garage.
it doesn't have to be this hard
we're always wrong about the outcomes
there are always ripples in the waves emanating from our position
not to mention the tides
and we don't plan for it
why can't we get used to being wrong? we always are
Let's be intelligent enough to correct our mistakes
instead of pretending like it isn't our problem
and do better instead of planning to think about it tomorrow
